Overview:
This system update posed many challenges including construction of a drainfield in the median of a busy highway and installing a forcemain from the rest stop to the median without stopping traffic or shutting down the facility.

Solution:

• One lane of the highway in both directions was closed to provide additional room for construction.
• Daily safety and traffic control meetings conducted due to the elevated safety risks.
• Directional boring was utilized to install the forcemain which assured traffic would not be interrupted.
