Forest City sewer update: Litchfield, MN
Overview:
Many properties in this small community of 25 homes were in need of a septic system update. Due to the size of the lots, a community septic system was engineered by Wenck Associates. Some of the challenges for this project included working around existing infrastructure, coordinating with multiple homeowners, and connecting to new sewer without interrupting service.
Solution:
- Directional boring was used to install the high pressure forcemains that collected wastewater from each property. This minimized property damage and restoration expense.
- A common drainfield system was installed on a property purchased by the sewer district.
- Septic tanks, filtered pump vaults, and curb stops were installed at each property prior to connecting to the collection system.
