Bowen Lodge: Deer River, MN

Overview:
Bowen Lodge is a resort located on a large peninsula between Lake Winnibigoshish and Cut Foot Sioux Lake.  The scenery is amazing with an old growth forest around the resort.  The owner wanted to save that forest as much as possible, but still maximize the usable space of the resort.  The owner was also interested in using pretreatment to ensure the system was returning high quality effluent to the ground.

Solution:

  • A collection system was designed to pump wastewater to a centrally located treatment area.
  • Puraflo peat modules were used as a treatment device to save drain field space, preserve old growth forest, and to clean the water to a very high standard.
